Arsenal's William Gallas (hamstring), Bacary Sagna (knee) and Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) will miss out.
They were injured while on international duty and are also set to miss Tuesday's game against Fenerbahce.
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is banned while Segundo Castillo (hamstring) and defenders Phil Jagielka and Joseph Yobo (both flu) are doubtful.
Victor Anichebe and Phil Neville are still nursing hamstring injuries and Leon Osman has a groin strain.

Aston Villa v Portsmouth
Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill will assess striker Gabriel Agbonlahor's fitness before naming his side.
Agbonlahor sustained a hamstring injury on England Under-21 duty and could miss out, while James Milner and centre-back Carlos Cuellar are in contention.
Portsmouth will be without midfield pair Lassana Diarra and Richard Hughes for the trip to Villa Park.
Diarra picked up a knock on international duty with France and Hughes injured his groin in training.

Bolton v Blackburn
Bolton duo Heidar Helguson and Gretar Steinsson picked up knocks while on duty with Iceland this week.
But both players should be fit to take their places in the squad.
Blackburn are without injury-plagued midfielder Steven Reid, who will miss the rest of the season after suffering another knee injury.
Striker Roque Santa Cruz (hamstring) is also doubtful but Benni McCarthy, Vince Grella and goalkeeper Paul Robinson have all been passed fit.

Striker Andrew Johnson returns from suspension for Fulham.
Andranik Teymourian has been ruled for three to four months after the Iranian midfielder sustained a knee injury while playing for the reserves.
Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy will not figure in the trip to Fulham as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Trinidad striker Kenwyne Jones is also ruled out while international team-mate Dwight Yorke will also miss out after featuring in their qualifying campaign.
